Our Client

Waste Check is a waste management, and consultancy business based in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.  They provide expert waste consultancy and waste management services to businesses throughout the UK.

The ‘Before’ Situation

Waste Check – a rapidly growing business and, like many businesses, rely heavily on their IT systems and business applications to operate successfully.  As part of taking their business to the next level, they moved to larger offices and wanted to make their IT systems more robust and protected.

They had several old, slow PC’s running Windows XP that were in need of replacement and a basic hosted email system with inadequate storage space for each member of staff.  This meant staff had to keep moving their emails out of their mailboxes and store them on their PC hard drives when their mailboxes became full, putting the safety of their emails at risk.

Another challenge Waste Check was facing was the licensing of their current Microsoft Office application suite.  They wanted to upgrade their software but wanted a cost-effective way of doing so.

Their server also had inadequate antivirus software that left their server vulnerable to virus attacks due to its lack of features.


The Solution

To give Waste Check the best protection, reduce employee downtime and give complete peace of mind we placed them on to one of our support contracts.  They now enjoy 24x7x365 monitoring of their IT systems so we can detect any problems and most of the time fix them before they have an impact on their business.  Plus their staff can call our helpdesk any time for advice or any technical issues they have.

Their old PC’s have been replaced with quality Lenovo machines running Windows 7 so their staff are more productive as well as being more secure.

To resolve Waste Check’s email and Microsoft Office software headaches we moved their email over to Office 365 Small Business Premium package.  This offers extra-large mailboxes for each user (50GB) so it’s unlikely they will ever run out of space, access to Microsoft’s latest Office application suite on up to 5 PC’s per person, cloud storage so they can access important business documents from virtually anywhere and web conferencing facilities so their staff can hold ‘virtual meetings’ wherever they are.

To make Waste Check’s server more secure we deployed our Managed Antivirus solution.  This means we can closely monitor the server for any virus infections and ensure the software is kept right up to date to give maximum protection of their data.

Each member of staff at Waste Check now enjoy the following excellent features:
