06 Nov Who is Alex
Hello. I’m Alex. I’m the newbie here at Synium. Although I’ve not been here that long, I’ve been working in IT roles for the likes of Halfords and The Cooperative for just over 5 years. I’ve got a degree in business Information Technology but I’m not the usual techy geek and in fact, like to keep tech to a minimum at home. That said I’ve got a passion for helping people understand and use technology which is why I have ended up at the best IT Support company in Birmingham.
I am a very laid-back person so laid back that my wife, Elaine, says I am virtually horizontal. I absolutely love music which anyone meets me will soon realise and I’ve built a reputation of the office DJ taking over the Sonos speaker with any workout playlist I can find on Spotify.
Which 4 people (dead or alive) would you most like to sit down with for dinner?
Skip the dinner, a night out on Broad Street with Adam Sandler, Zach Galifianakis, Alan Carr and Nick Swardson. Basing it on some of their films we’d wake up the next morning trying to piece together what happened the night before.
What are you watching on Netflix now?
At the minute I’m playing catch up on POWER – no spoiler please!! Other than that, I’m watching Pocoyo repeatedly thanks to my 2-year-old son Isaac.
If you could spend the day doing anything you want, money no object, what would you do?
Spend the day behind the scenes recording Africa with David Attenborough. Massive fan of wildlife and David but that doesn’t mean I go out birdwatching on the weekends.
What has been your favourite place to visit?
Ibiza for the typical reasons but also watching the sun go down on the sunset strip. I absolutely love this place and have been 3 times and will be going back very soon hopefully 🙂
What do you wish you could have done earlier in life?
I’ve recently started running to try and get fit which I wish I could have started sooner because as I’m slowly getting closer towards 30, I’ve realised it’s going to be a lot harder than I expected Haha.
Finally, what do you enjoy most about working for Synium?
When I am in the office it never really feels like I am at work because there is an extended family-like feel. The mood is never dull, we have a good laugh but get the job done. It helps that we all love what we do!
